Nepal’s Flood Crisis - 2024
DONATE NOW TO SUPPORT OUR WORK WITH FLOOD VICTIMS IN NEPAL
Torrential rains that began on September 26, 2024, triggered severe flooding and landslides, submerging settlements across 23 districts in Nepal as rivers overflowed. The most significant impacts were felt starting the evening of September 27.
The floods have impacted thousands of families across the region, and Moving Mountain Nepal is focused on providing relief to those who have lost their homes, as well as families with small children in shelters around the valley.
We are gratefully accepting donations, no matter how small, to support our work in the coming weeks and months through our PayPal account registered to Moving Mountain Nepal NGO. Your contribution will help provide essential clothing for small children, supplied by the Nepali children's clothing brand Kokroma. Additionally, funds will be directed toward improving essential health and welfare conditions for families affected by this crisis.
2020-2021
Nepal’s on-going COVID-19 Crisis
In response to the current situation regarding Covid-19 here in Nepal, Kokroma is collaborating with the Facebook Group - Stories of Nepal and our sponsor Audrey Jacob’s Foundation in Switzerland to bring much needed relief to remote communities from the Far West of the country to the Terai.
Since mid April 2021 Nepal has experienced an unprecedented rise in COVID-19 cases. The Health System has been stretched to capacity and the country is facing a humanitarian disaster.
Kokroma and Moving Mountain Nepal have been cooperating with Audrey Jacob’s Foundation and Stories of Nepal to bring relief to marginalised communities around the country who are facing extreme hardship in the current situation. Please use the PayPal link below for your donation.
Thank you. MMN
COVID-19 in NEPAL
Support Moving Mountain Nepal Cradle Care Bank
Covid-19 is having a devastating impact around the globe. Here in Nepal, a country facing economic, social and environmental challenges, the consequences of the pandemic have affected every strata of society. Since the start of lockdown on March 24 here in Nepal, Moving Mountain Nepal have been supporting expectant mothers in slum areas of the city through donations. These women in the latter stages of pregnancy, often have never seen a doctor. The Nepali infant clothing brand - Kokroma have created a comprehensive Cradle Care package specifically designed to serve the immediate needs of these women on giving birth to their babies.
If you would like to sponsor these expectant mothers who are in need, Kokroma has arranged a PayPal donation link for "Cradle Care Bank" where we collect maternity packages from donors and provide the mothers in need after reviewing their situations. Each slum community is visited by members of our donation team and the contents of the packages are shown before being handed over to the expectant mothers.
In addition to providing the Cradle Care package, Moving Mountain Nepal and Kokroma have teamed up with Nepal’s Doctors on Call who conduct thorough pre-natal checkups for each of the mothers on our donation days.
The Cradle Care Maternity package includes the following items with a total cost of 100$ (11,920- NPR and 88.00€)

“Education is the foundation upon which we build our future”
Moving Mountain School Bag began as a grass roots initiative of Rewati Gurung and Gary Wornell during the earthquakes of 2015 which later evolved as a registered NGO with the new name Pahal Nepal (Moving Mountain Nepal). Since then, Moving Mountain Nepal has been actively working in different districts (Okhaldunga, Kathmandu, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading, Sindhuli, Kavre and Nuwakot) supporting school children. In our field trips during the earthquake we found that the basic needs of children were being neglected. By providing a school bag complete with exercise books, pencils, sharpeners would have positive psychosocial and emotional impact on the children and their parents. As a result, Moving Mountain Nepal has been donating more than 4200 school bags since 2015.
Moving Mountain Nepal have provided school bags to primary school children since the earthquakes in 2015.
Moving Mountain Nepal provides eco-friendly locally made sanitary pads for adolescent girls in rural schools.
After the earthquake, many schools are rebuilt that we have been donating bags to. The new building are soulless without proper decorating or murals. Making fun and informative murals has positive impact and brings the happiness to be in the classroom for children.
